Glaucoma and Pot Tea: More “Bhang” For Your Buck!

« Posted by Pat Franczyk on October 23, 2009 »

Weed tea, pot tea, cannabis tea, marijuana tea, hemp tea: whatever name you give to it, tea made from cannabis sativa for the temporary alleviation of glaucoma had better do its job. And you have wasted a lot of time and possibly a lot of money if you have assumed that you can simply steep marijuana leaves in hot water like regular tea and achieve the desired results.

Cannabis tea, pot tea etc., is best made with milk. Milk has a high fat content.  THC, the active ingredient in marijuana leaves and/or buds that helps to lower the excessive eye pressure caused by glaucoma, is a fat soluble chemical, not water soluble.

Cannabis tea has been prepared this way in India for many years. It is know as “bhang”. I bet I know why. “Pow” and ‘whammy” were to follow, but they forgot what they were going to say.

Here is the recipe, for those with glaucoma:

Bhang (marijuana milk, pot milk)

4 cups milk

one ounce of leaves or 3.5 grams of buds

Boil the milk and leaves together for approximately one hour, stirring constantly. The better the bud, the more potent the milk.

Once made, use only 1/4 cup as a serving, filling the rest of your glass with a tasty milk-compatible beverage of your choice. Chocolate milk or chocolate soy milk tastes good. A touch of raspberry syrup is good also. If you know that your pot is pretty potent, try starting with only a tablespoon of bhang.

Make sure you are healthy enough to play with pot. Check with your open-minded health practitioner before embarking on this path of self-medication. Relief from glaucoma is important, and this just might be the right thing for you. Consult a qualified medical practitioner to find out the efficacy of eye drops and the potential benefits of stop-gap surgery in order to look at all of your options. But if in need, there is weed.

As I stated in earlier posts, this pot path is not for me. It has helped many individuals that I know receive temporary relief from the symptoms of glaucoma, and cancer. All of my friends and acquaintances using medical marijuana have permission from the government to do so. They are card carrying pot smokers that I have been convincing to give up the smoking, since it is not very good for your lungs. Why add another problem? That is no better than using mainstream pharmaceuticals with major side effects.

Magic milk and cookies are a lot friendlier. Just don’t leave them around for the children to accidentally snack on. Of course, most “children” of this demographic will be around 25 years old. In which case, don’t share your stash until they show you the cash.  The little moochers.

Kidding.

Show them your love.

After all, they may have more pot recipes than you do.

Strictly for medicinal purposes, of course.

Pat.
