Yes, the cookies do help!

Good news about a sad business folks; marijuana does indeed help to alleviate the symptoms of glaucoma, four hours at a time. Well, usually four hours at a time. This recipe is more like… twelve hours at a time!

Pot temporarily reduces the excessive pressure in your eyes caused by glaucoma. This according to the good folks at Wikipedia, and at about, oh, a million other places on the web. Marijuana is just as effective as many store-bought pharmaceuticals. Not more, not less. But possibly a lot more fun! Depending upon who you talk to, and obviously depending upon your own constitution.

Here is the best pot cookie recipe that I know. It is full of anti-oxidant rich dried cranberries, cholesterol lowering walnuts, cholesterol lowering oatmeal, blood sugar-levelling cinnamon, anti-oxidant rich dark chocolate, and a shit-load of sugar. Oh yes –and pot:

To make pot butter, take two sticks of unsalted butter and bring to a boil along with 2-3 cups of water. If you are using “shake”, or leaf matter as opposed to top quality buds, use about three ounces.  Or, use 10.5 grams of bud, if bud is available. Add to the water/butter mixture and continue boiling for about an hour. If your  leaf is not too potent, double, or triple the time. Mash and stir frequently. Strain with a cheesecloth after boiling, or put the pot matter into a blender and add it to the cookie recipe. Let the butter cool to room temperature. This process can be hastened by placing it in the fridge. Pour off the water once the butter has solidified. Make cookies.

Cookies a la Pot

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 350. Mix wet ingredients together, then mix in dry ingredients. Bake 13-15 minutes.

Wet Ingredients: 3/4 cup melted Pot Butter (recipe above)
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp maple syrup
3 eggs
- Mix Wet Ingredients -

Dry Ingredients: 1 3/4 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 cups Oats

1 Package bittersweet chocolate morsels or butterscotch morsels, if chocolate isn’t your thing. Or half a package of both!

1 cup dried cranberries

1 cup walnuts

Bake @350 13-15 minutes

Yummalicious!

The cookies are great without the marijuana also, you know. If you or your loved ones don’t have glaucoma and actually need to leave the house or answer the phone or, heaven forbid it should come to this – have to answer the door.

Just a thought.
